Dear
Parents/Guardians:
The
City of Winnipeg, with support from the Manitoba School for the Deaf, will be offering a
Youth Action Centre for Deaf and hard of hearing youth on Wednesdays from 3:45 – 5:45 p.m. The program will be co-led by
Sarah Walker, a hearing employee of the City of Winnipeg, and Evan Husack, a
young Deaf man who has just competed programming at RRC. An interpreter will be provided.
Children
aged 12 and up (must still be attending school) can register to attend. Siblings and friends in this age group are
welcome to register as well.
The
Centre will be a place to participate in activities, get fit and
socialize. On-site activities will
include basketball, badminton, volleyball, crafts, floor hockey, board games,
etc.
We
hope you will consider registering your child for this program. Enclosed is a Registration Form that must be
completed and returned prior to your
son/daughter attending his/her first session. As this program is drop-in
registration is ongoing. If you plan to start on February 6 please have the
attached form back to the office at MSD by February 5, 2013.
Please note that
parents/guardians are responsible for arranging transportation home following
the program. Pick up time – 5:45 p.m. sharp!
