AWESOME OPPORTUNITY!!!!!
We have received a grant from the Winnipeg Foundation to promote mime within the Deaf and hard of hearing community in Winnipeg.
This is a wonderful experience for young people and a great introduction to the arts world. Please help to bring this opportunity to your students.
We have pulled together the dates for mime classes with Shannon. They are: February 17 and 24, March 3 and 17, April 7 and 21, May 19 and 26, June 2 and 9.
These will be taught at University of Winnipeg in room OT19 in the Asper Centre for Theatre and Film, 400 Colony St. at Ellice. The classes will run from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. except for the 2 dates in May. Those times will be 9:00 [ http://a.m.to ]a.m.to noon. These classes will all be interpreted. There is no fee for the classes as a grant from The Winnipeg Foundation is paying for the instructor and interpreter. U of W has generously donated the space for the next 6 months.
All interested students will have training on these dates. When Shannon picks the members for the troupe, those students will have further times and dates for practices. Some of you saw the performance last June at D.C.M. so you will know the incredible level of skill the students achieved. This will happen again with those who attend these classes.
Please give this information out to any students over 15 who might be interested and pass it on to any deaf adult who might have an interest. This is a great opportunity that might not come again.
